I visited the Outpatient Dept to see their nutritionist, educator, dietitian or whatever she was an expert in. She was new to Sinai, from NY and pregnant, on the phone during the first 10 minutes of my 1 hour visit. Asked what I wanted to know? I'm a brittle diabetic obviously with no clue, really? Just read the labels she said. (another phone call interruption) Okay, I can read the box, but whats it all mean? Its a pain b/c you have to know the conversions, but you will figure it out. REALLY? My session ended 5 minutes early So, just another useless Sinai Hospital con artist in the medical community seeking a paycheck - NEVER AGAIN!
Need more staff. There are very, very sick patients that get ignored by their nurses. Janitorial supervisors treat the janitors like trash. At night they need security that pays attention and doesnt sleep or watch movies while on the clock. This place ALWAYS smells of urine and feces. Once your in as a patient you never leave alive 90% of the time. Dont let your loved ones go there! Copley at Stoughton has wonderful rehabilitation programs and a very clean environment. And the staff treats your loved ones with the dignity and respect your loved one deserves. Stoughtons own Helen Hansen spent her last days at the Copley.
I've had a family member here a number of times and honestly if there was another option that wasn't so far they would be there because this place is horrible. I don't put it all in the nurses because 8 think management understaffs big time and the patients suffer because of it. They do not put their patients first highly don't recommend this place.
I am not happy about the fact that the Applause program was discontinued. You could tell Human Resources by an email to nominate a staff member an Applause for good, caring work. When Steward bought the hospital, the Applause program was discontinued. RIP Applause!!!
They need more staff and equipment. They are not prepared to take care of all their patients with their means.
